Unlock your authentic self with journaling for self-discovery, reflection, and personal growth.Â
Hi, I’m Penelope Falls. My journey with journaling began when I was desperately trying not to pick up another drink. Somehow, the act of writing and seeing my thoughts on paper helped me get out of my head.
Today, I’m still journaling—not to keep from picking up a drink, but to help maintain an even keel in my everyday life. What started as a tool for sobriety became my oxygen mask and eventually the map to my own inner wisdom. Now, after over a decade of journaling, I want to share my experiences and what I’ve learned with others so they too can find their oxygen mask to inner wisdom.
“Your life is already teaching you everything you need to know, you just need to learn how to listen through intentional writing.”

Hi, my name is Penelope Falls, and this is just a small glimpse into how journaling has changed my life. I didn’t pick up a pen one day with dreams of writing beautiful things, creating poetry, or crafting a novel. I picked up a pen because I was desperate, desperate to feel better and stay sober..
Have you ever had a thought that just won’t go away? No matter how hard you try, it keeps coming back. Welcome to the damned rumination cycle.
My surroundings come into focus when I pay attention, and so do I. When I slow down enough to notice what is actually around me, things begin to feel clearer.Â
Whether you’re new to journaling or looking to go deeper, let’s begin one page at a time.
